Before 2026, Just START
The year is what you make it
Hello Dear One,
Welcome to the last days of 2025.
There’s a lot to be grateful for, and there’s also a lot to prepare for.
One of the quiet gifts of a new year is the chance to begin again. But here’s the truth we don’t always like to hear: nothing actually changes just because the calendar does. Change only happens when we choose differently.
That’s what today’s note is about. Choosing differently. Starting before you feel ready.
And yes, I know “just start” can sound like another motivational phrase we’ve heard too many times. Motivation aside, let’s talk.
Think about how you feel after you’ve done something God nudged you to do. Even when it was uncomfortable. Even when it scared you. There is usually a deep sense of peace, joy, alignment, and satisfaction.
Now compare that to how you feel when you delay, avoid, or ignore what you said you would do, or what God asked of you. That lingering weight. The regret. The restlessness.
If one of the above feelings had to follow you throughout the year, which would you choose? Satisfaction or regret?
That choice, more than anything else, is where new beginnings actually start.
“If everyone waited to become an expert before starting, no one would become an expert. To become an EXPERT, you must have EXPERIENCE. To get EXPERIENCE, you must EXPERIMENT! Stop waiting. Start stuff.”
― Richie Norton
Before 2026 arrives, give yourself one simple assignment: practice starting things and following through. It doesn’t have to be big. Start small. Something as basic as a morning routine works. Decide to wake up earlier and actually do it. Then do it again. And again.
Readiness doesn’t come before action. It comes from doing. You get better by showing up, not by waiting for the perfect conditions to appear. So stop waiting for the ideal time, the ideal energy, or the ideal plan. Start with what you have, where you are.
If you need help with that, feel free to steal my START Framework for getting things started and staying consistent.
Name the Thing: Most people stay stuck because the dream is vague. What exactly do you want to start and why now? Get clear and half the work is done.
Identify Your Fear: Many time you are stalling because you are afraid of something. What are you afraid will happen if you start? What discomfort are you trying to avoid?
Break It Down Till It’s Startable: A dream is daunting until you slice it into small tasks that you can do over time with timelines. You want to write a book? commit to writing everyday, at the same time for 10 mins. What can you do in 10 minutes? What can you finish in one day?
See The Bigger Picture: Every time you complete something, you grow a part of you that was not there before. So, see all God is trying to do in you and through you and let that inspire you to keep showing up. Visualise what success looks like and keep the vision somewhere visible ( your device screen, your journal, on sticky notes, etc. )
Stay Accountable: Consistency grows in community. Find someone you can tell about your plans who can encourage you even when you can’t move on. Find people already doing something similar that you can learn from. Stay accountable.
Every moment is precious. Show up as your best and shine for the Father.
I love you and I am rooting for you.
